This year, our focus turns to a pivotal moment in history — the arrival of the ship Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks, Essex, 75 years ago. We gather to pay tribute to the resilient individuals of this generation, including our Mothers, Fathers, Uncles, Aunts, and Grandparents, whether they arrived on the Empire Windrush or were considered integral to this remarkable era.

For those with Caribbean roots, you’ve likely heard the tales from our elders about their time in England, often referred to as the motherland. These stories evoke emotions, from sadness to inspiration, as they underscore the unwavering strength and determination that propelled our ancestors toward success.
